Privacy

What we collect when you visit this site, why, and how long we keep it.

Who we are

This site is run by PICKUP Zine, a music zine based in London. If you have any questions about your data, or want a copy of it or want it deleted, email [email protected].

When you visit

We don't use cookies or tracking pixels, and we don't use Google Analytics or any advertising tools.

When you open a page, we record which page it was, the site you came from, your approximate location (city and country, worked out from your IP address), the type of device and browser, and your IP address. We use this to see how many people read the site and to stop spam and abuse, for example by blocking an address that keeps attacking the contact form. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site.

IP addresses are deleted automatically after 30 days at most. Anonymous visitor counts with no IP address attached are kept for up to about a year. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, we don't record your visit at all.

When you message us

The contact form sends us your name, email address, message and IP address. We use them to reply to you and to filter out spam. Messages are kept until we've dealt with them and no longer need them. Ask us at any time and we'll delete yours.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks you're not a bot. Cloudflare's privacy policy covers that check.

Who else is involved

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which stores our data in its own data centres. The Instagram posts on the homepage are loaded through Behold. Ticket links take you to DICE, which has its own privacy policy. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
